Job Title: Per Diem Physician Assistant (PA)
Location: AFC Urgent Care Sparks, NV
Job Type: Per Diem
Shift: 12-Hour Shifts, including weekends
Position Overview:
AFC Urgent Care Sparks, NV is seeking an experienced and dedicated Physician Assistant (PA) to join our team on a per diem basis. This position offers flexibility with scheduling, but candidates must be available to work 12-hour shifts, including weekends, as part of the rotating schedule. The ideal candidate will be committed to providing high-quality patient care in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. DOT certified preferred or willing to certified.
Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive physical assessments and evaluations of patients.
- Take patient histories, conduct physical exams, and order necessary diagnostic tests.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans.
- Provide patient education and counseling on medical conditions, treatment options, and prevention strategies.
- Document patient care in compliance with legal and hospital standards.
- Assist in medical procedures and interventions as directed by the supervising physician.
- Provide care and treatment in both inpatient and outpatient settings, as applicable.
- Respond to emergency situations, including critical care or urgent cases, as needed.
- Ensure accurate, timely documentation of all patient encounters.
Requirements:
- Current Physician Assistant (PA) license in NV.
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- NCCPA certification (or eligibility) required.
- 2+ years of clinical experience preferred (but new grads may be considered depending on experience).
- Must be able to work 12-hour shifts and weekends as part of the rotation.
- Strong clinical judgment and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
- Experience in urgent care setting preferred.
- CPR/BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS may be required depending on the department.
- Ability to adapt in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- IV Placement Certified
